Bendeta Angat is only 14 years old.
An incoming Grade 7 student, she is known as one of the top-performing students in her class. She is bright, hardworking, and full of potential.
But behind her achievements is a difficult reality.
Because of financial hardship, Bendeta’s parents began considering an arranged marriage for her. Not because she lacked ability. Not because she lacked dreams. But because they could no longer afford to support her education.
For a young girl like Bendeta, this meant more than leaving school.
It meant losing the chance to choose her own future.
It meant stepping away from the classroom, from her studies, and from the dreams that were still growing quietly in her heart.
But God opened a door.
Recognizing Bendeta’s potential, a SULADS supervisor stepped in and made plans to send her to SULADS High School.
It was a step of faith.
There was no full support secured yet.
Only a burden to help. A prayer for provision.
And the belief that Bendeta’s future was worth fighting for.
With the opportunity to continue her education, Bendeta now has the chance to stay in school, grow in a safe environment, and pursue the life God has placed before her.
And she is not alone.
Her younger sister, Jasel, was also brought to SULADS so the two sisters could continue their education together.
Together, they are being given something every child deserves:
A safe place to learn, a chance to grow and a future that is not decided by poverty.
At SULADS High School, their needs are simple but important.
Food. School-related expenses. Basic personal necessities.
These may seem like ordinary needs, but for Bendeta and Jasel, they can make the difference between staying in school and being forced to leave their education behind.
Sometimes, a child’s future is protected not by something big, but by faithful support given at the right time.
A meal, a school supply, a basic necessity and a sponsor willing to care.
Through education, Bendeta and Jasel can continue dreaming.
They can continue learning, and grow into the young women God created them to be.
And one day, their story may become a testimony of how compassion opened a door when everything seemed ready to close.
There are still many children like Bendeta.
Children with potential, dreams and whose education is at risk simply because their families cannot carry the burden alone.
But together, we can help change that.
By supporting Bendeta and Jasel today, we are not only helping them stay in school.
We are helping protect their future.
We are helping them choose their own path and build a brighter tomorrow for themselves, their family, and their community.
Because when we invest in a child’s education, we are planting hope that can grow for generations.
